Aerial Drone Mapping
Aerial Drone Mapping outside Glasgow

The use of commercial drone services is having a profound effect on so many industries across the country. For example, 2D drone mapping and 3D digital surface models used for land and mining applications are becoming an integral part of the day to day operations of companies in these sectors as it allows them to quickly and easily monitor progress and track volume measurement of materials.
How do we perform drone mapping?

Using our commercial grade aerial drones, we capture HD quality images from our drone mounted camera. We take multiple overlapping photos of the location as our drone flied autonomously along a predetermined flight path. This set flight path combined with overlapping photography means that we do not miss any crucial areas that would be used for data processing later.

The photographic data that we have taken is then fed into bespoke mapping software that can produce a comprehensive survey of land, buildings and infrastructure. This data can be presented in multiple easy to understand and process formats. One of the key benefits of drone mapping is the ability to take accurate measurements of a location straight from the data maps that we produce.

When we perform our drone mapping services, we can provide two options.

With high altitude mapping, we can cover a larger area. With lower altitude flying, we can provide a higher quality resolution of photographs. While the technology is changing all the time, the standard maximum resolution of images that we take from our drone is between 5cms per pixel and 1cm per pixel depending in drone flight altitute and other factors.

We can provide our drone mapping services in the following sectors:

  • Agriculture
  • Construction
  • Oil & Gas
  • Solar Power
  • Wind Farms
  • Hydro Electric Dams
  • Mining
  • Waste Management
  • Environmental
  • Disaster Management
  • Insurance
