Every year in the Nevada’s Black Rock Desert, the Burning Man festival takes place. This art festival consists of a temporary community that follows ten main principles:
- Community co-operation
- Radical inclusion
- Civic responsibility
- Leaving no trace.
This week-long festival allows individuals to express themselves and give to others through their own unique talents. Each year, the organisers choose a theme and festivalgoers then create art through various mediums based around the theme.
Aerial View of the Burning Man Festival
While most people get to the Black Rock Desert by car or other road vehicle, some have been attempting more inventive methods to get there in recent years. And a few hardy souls have decided to parachute in to allow them to catch a superb aerial view of the festival.
Others are capturing the most stunning images with the use of drones and aerial cameras. Festivalgoers, or ‘Burners’ as they are known, recognise that the view from above is completely different to that on the ground and are using helicopters, planes and drones to ensure they get the most stunning photographs of this fantastic event.
Aerial images of the 2016 festival, which have been shared on social media sites such as Instagram, give a unique view of the event, including one which shows the Burners’ camps forming a vast semi-circle – something that would be impossible to appreciate without the aid of aerial photography.
Another stunning image shows a man in mid-air above the giant semi-circle before he deploys his parachute.
